Services

At North Olympia Animal Hospital in Olympia, WA, our veterinary staff is proud to assist you with any of the following services your pet may need.

Blood Work

When your pet's condition is not visible, or we need a diagnosis confirmation, a blood test can help. A blood test helps catch diseases and conditions, including:

  • Cancer
  • Polycythemia
  • Infection
  • Weakened Immune system
  • …and more

Pet Dental Care

Dental health is essential to your pet's overall health. Checkups once a year help prevents the following:

  • Gingivitis
  • Periodontal Tooth Decay
  • Staining
  • Cavities
  • Oral Infections

When their teeth remain unkept, plaque begins to build up and harden to become tartar, which causes various teeth and gum issues. We recommend starting dental checkups after your pet has been weaned then once a year for the rest of your pet's life.

Euthanasia

Sometimes, euthanasia is the only option. Seeing your pet suffer is hard on you and them, euthanasia can be the most compassionate and caring thing a pet owner could do. Reasons to consider euthanasia include:

  • Lost weight and refusal to eat
  • Pain with no remedy
  • Uncontrollable vomiting or diarrhea
  • Declining activity levels

This decision is complicated, and our veterinarian will work with you to make the best decision for your pet.

Microchipping

A microchip can help locate a lost pet. Collars break and get lost. A microchip gives you peace of mind. No power source or moving parts, and the materials are compatible with an animal's body, so there's no fear of rejection.

Parasite Prevention

In addition to flea and tick prevention, we also offer prevention against tapeworms and other parasites.

Radiology

Radiology can help to find various illnesses, and we offer it four ways:

  • Ultrasound
  • Radiographs
  • MRI
  • CT Scans

Radiology rapidly diagnoses your pet so that we can move on to treatment.

Spaying and Neutering

Overpopulation is the leading cause of euthanasia in shelters. Non-neutered pets urinate to claim things as theirs. Neutering lowers the risk of prostate cancer, and spaying can increase a dog’s life span for three to five years.

Surgery

When prevention isn't enough, sometimes surgery is required. We offer many types of surgery options for your pet.

Vaccines

In alignment with the prevention, vaccines are a great way to prevent your animal from catching or spreading illnesses to other animals.

Wellness and Care Check-Ups

Annual checkups help make sure your pet is healthy year-round. Helping diagnose potential illnesses so that we can move forward with treatment.
